Stay fit and healthy with CyberRun for Rehab

Get fit and healthy on November 1 with CyberRun for Rehab - Healthy Steps in Cyberport 2009, the sixth annual charity run to promote health, wellness and active living among the community.

This year's event, organized jointly by Cyberport Tenants Club and The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, is themed "Show Your Care to the Disabled" and is focused on the single mission of raising funds to support training and consultation services for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses in Mainland China and Hong Kong, and to advocate equal enjoyment of disabled people in sports by promoting it as a means of social inclusion.  The event drew 863 participants last year alone.

Further underpinning the concept of sports as a means of social inclusion, the event will be split into several categories: a 5km run, a 4km walk and a 1.5km accessible walk, to ensure the vastly different communities of Cyberport, Sandy Bay and Pokfulam can enjoy the event.

All participants are welcome so long as they meet the minimum pledge of $200 per adult runner and $100 for each child or full-time student.  The competition is divided into 12 sections based on age and gender in addition to categories for secondary school teams, open teams and corporate teams.  Additional prizes include the individual and school/organization raising the highest funds and the school/organization totalling the greatest number of participants.

Each participant will receive a stylish tee and other gifts from the sponsors.  Winners also have the opportunity to win other exciting prizes including sports gear, mobile phones and memory cards.

Do good, stay fit and have fun.  Register for this meaningful event with your friends and colleagues.  For registration details and further enquiries, visit www.cyberrun.hk or call 2817 6277.

Cyberport tenant Travelzen first to offer online cross-straits flights booking

Travelzen CEO Ted Sze joins Xu Shuling, General Manager of the Cross Straits Travel Agency, at the Taipei Westin in a ceremony marking Travelzen's historic introduction of scheduled Taiwan-mainland flights on the Travelzen.com website.
Since establishing itself in Cyberport two years ago, online travel company Travelzen has been taking full advantage of the creative digital community's state-of-the-art facilities, making inroads in utilizing technology to advance the travel industry.

In September, the travel innovator became the world's first online travel operator to offer customers the option of instantly booking the complete schedule of 270 weekly flights between 4 Taiwan and 27 Mainland cities on www.Travelzen.com, just one week after the historic establishment of scheduled cross-straits flights.

Travelzen expects to claim over 20 percent of the individual cross-straits travel business in the coming year.  The company also offers a full range of China domestic flights and hotels at previously unavailable competitive prices.

Keller Mak, Senior Vice President of Operations of Travelzen, said Cyberport had been a natural headquarters choice because of the hi-tech nature of their business.  He added that Cyberport is the best location for Travelzen due to its sound environment and the availability of its data centre service.

With offices spanning Hong Kong and in major Chinese cities like Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Taipei and Zhuhai, Travelzen Group Limited is a joint venture between the large-scale Chinese air ticketing wholesaler, and a reputable international private equity group.

Prior to the launch of its website in March 2009, Travelzen had spent two years developing its advanced travel booking technology and pioneering China's next generation online travel booking engine.

CyberLink's readers can now benefit from Travelzen's special programme which provides discount booking for both leisure and business.  By using the code YFEVXJ6Q upon booking, valid from now until December 31, tenants will receive an instant CNY 50 rebate on any flight ticket purchase from Hong Kong, Taiwan to China, Chinese domestic flights as well as over 6,000 hotels in China, Hong Kong and Macau.  For corporate discounts, Cyberport tenants can contact the agency at agentsales@travelzen.com.
