Cyberport to help New Zealand set up its own creative digital hub
Cyberport took its first step towards exporting its creative digital expertise overseas following the signing of a Knowledge Sharing and Transfer Agreement with New Zealand's Wellington City Council (WCC) and the New Zealand Institute for Screen Innovation Limited (NZISI).

A Hong Kong delegation of representatives including Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Duncan Pescod, Cyberport CEO Nicholas Yang, executives from Create Hong Kong, industry practitioners, academics and Cyberport incubatees were present at the signing in Wellington in November.

Cyberport IncuTrain Centre accepts highest ever number of incubatees
Cyberport IncuTrain Centre recently admitted the highest ever number of incubatee companies.  A record 22 new start-ups were accepted on to the scheme in October and November.  This latest intake also saw the greatest number of applicants with the total reaching 56.

Half of the incubatee intake will be based at Cyberport while the remaining will operate off-site.  This year's incubatees mainly come from six key business categories...

Denmark's royalty toured Cyberport
The management of Cyberport warmly welcomed Denmark's Royal Highness Prince Joachim and her Royal Highness Princess Marie to the creative digital community on November 23.

The royal couple, who were in Hong Kong to promote Danish business, were accompanied by four other delegates from Denmark.  Led by Mark Clift, Cyberport's Chief Operating Officer, the group toured Cyberport's major facilities including Network Operations Centre, Visitor Centre and Digital Media Centre...

Cyberport to launch free electric car charging station in January 2010
A free electric car charging station will be launched at Cyberport by early January 2010.  Implementation of the environmentally friendly station will make Cyberport one of the first locations on Hong Kong Island to offer its own electric car charging station.

There are ample benefits to electricity fuelled cars including low fuel costs.  The South China Morning Post earlier reported that electric cars' fuel costs are a staggering 70 percent cheaper than petrol cars...
