Cyberport Digital Entertainment Incubation-cum-Training Centre

Graduation and Recognition Ceremony

Hong Kong, 22 March 2007-- Established by the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (“Cyberport”), Cyberport Digital Entertainment Incubation-cum-Training Centre (“IncuTrain Centre”), a unique incubation base for developing digital entertainment and multimedia industries in Hong Kong, held its Graduation and Recognition Ceremony today with the attendance of honorable guests including: Prof. On-Ching Yue, Science Advisor of the Innovation and Technology Commission; Mr. Dennis Pang, Assistant Government Chief Information Officer of the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer; Mr. Anthony Au, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the IncuTrain Centre and Mr. Nicholas Yang, the Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport.

The ceremony recognized seven incubated companies with a Certificate of Merit to greet their rapid growth beyond the preset milestones in their early stage of incubation. These include: ADigit, a video streaming technology developer; Digital Life Institute, a mobile Chinese infotainment developer; Digital News Network, a developer of online multimedia Chinese historical maps; Growlong, an animation/game content licensing and management company; Hypermedia Studio, an animation content developer; Movielearn, an English movie edutainment content developer; and Xgate, an interactive mobile marketing service provider. Another incubated mobile game developer, 3 Dynamics, received a citation in the ceremony for its winning in the “Digital Pioneers” Program, a creative entrepreneurship exchange program co-organized by British Council and Cyberport.

As a greeting of success, Samsung Electronics Hong Kong sponsored a cash prize of HK$10,000 to the first graduate of the Centre, Mobile Gamer. Its founder and owner, Mr. Kurt Chan, expressed gratitude in his graduation speech, 'Thanks a lot to the Cyberport IncuTrain Program, which has given my company much help in its growth and successful gaining of a substantial market share within a short period of time.'

Mr. Nicholas Yang, the Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport, said in his welcome speech, 'Today is the Graduation Ceremony of the IncuTrain Centre to celebrate the graduation of its incubated company, which has achieved a substantial market share within only one year of incubation. We are also glad to see the great potential of the seven incubated companies which will be honored with a Certificate of Merit today. We are also congratulating our incubated company which has won in the Digital Pioneers Program to represent Hong Kong in its trip to London next week, and to expand its business network. All these exciting developments give us one message: that our incubated companies are well accepted both locally and internationally, and not only by the digital entertainment industry itself but also by the market.'

Funded by the Innovation and Technology Fund, Cyberport established Hong Kong’s first and only incubation and training centre for the digital entertainment industry, dubbed “IncuTrain Centre”.
