Cyberport Digital Entertainment Incubation and Training Programme Symposium - Animating at Pixar

INTRODUCTION
Dr. Andrew Gordon, Animator of Pixar Animation Studio, will come to Hong Kong and share with us on aspects of animating characters from character development and pre production to the blocking and finishing of a shot covering works from Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. The symposium is intended for Professionals working in animation and parties who are interested in knowing the animation production are also welcome.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER Dr. Andrew Gordon, a professional characters animator at Pixar Animation Studios for ten year. Dr. Gordon has been involved in Pixar's animations from A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles. The characters he has worked on include Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Gill, from finding Nemo and Edna Mode, the costume designer in "The Incredibles." He also involve in the most current animation, CARS, and Ratatouille which is currently under development and will due out in 2007. Dr. Gordon studied animation in Vancouver and NY, and prior to his work at Pixar, he worked in the Looney Tunes division of Warner Brothers. He was recently awarded "Outstanding Character Animation in an Animated Motion Picture" by the Visual Effects Society for his work in Finding Nemo. He is currently a teacher at the Academy of Art in San Francisco where his students have gone on to become animators at all the top studios.
