  • Fine Music-Kite-flying Fun Day in Celebration of the National Day
    27-09-2014 to 15-09-2014
Every year, Southern District Council will engage in planning and organising National Day celebrations to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the Motherland, with a view to enhancing the festive atmosphere in the district and strengthening cohesion among local residents. The Organizing Committee for the Celebration of the 65th National Day in the Southern District will organize the celebration programme for the National Day under the theme of kite-flying fun day and Orchestra Performance at Cyberport.

The activity enables children and the public at large to have a better understanding of the Chinese culture through exposure to the making and appreciation of kites. In the ambience of fine music, the activity also serves as a prelude to the National Day for the enjoyment of local residents and members of the public.

A Music Appreciation cum Kite Painting Workshop will be organised for children. Inspired by several selected music pieces (including the national anthem), participants will create patterns for painting the musical notes on traditional kites under the guidance of instructors. Afterwards, the kites will be flown on the turfed area at the waterfront, so that kites bearing the symbols of fine music will fly freely in the sky at the Cyberport.
