  • Cyberport alumni and

  • Startup companies who want to join Cyberport Incubation Programme

Learning objectives:

  • Understand that start-up is about living with, and within, an ever-changing environment.

  • Understand the need for a sound commercialization strategy and how to develop one.

  • Understand the essential ingredients of planning for a successful business

Comments from incubatees, who have attended the training before:

Andy Chang, Founder, I-Influence Limited
"Raiyo is very engaging and knowledgeable on the subject of start-ups. This is one of the best seminars that I've attended, and I continue to apply the learnings everyday on the job. I think it should be mandatory for all Cyberport incubatees and start-ups in Hong Kong."

Andy Chung, CEO, XNT Limited
"The training has given us a very good opportunity to think over our business, in the right way, under the guidance of Raiyo. The experience sharing sessions hosted by the real-life angels, in particular, have given us information that is not easily accessible elsewhere. We now have a better idea on what investors are really looking for from a start-up company. And, thanks to the very patient, seasoned instructors, mentors and judges, we are now ready and confident to pitch our business to any potential investors that we meet in an elevator - including Mr Forbes. I highly recommend this training programme to any entrepreneurs who are serious about succeeding in their businesses. "

Mr. Raiyo Nariman, Regional Manager Angels Den Hong Kong and Macau

Over the years, Raiyo has been involved in ventures and business from all sectors; spinning-out a small team to create a regional shared services business; creating start-ups based on 'bleeding edge' technology; assisting tertiary and research institutions to commercialize their research and intellectual property; mentoring start-up CEOs and founders to get their companies 'investment ready' and raise capital; assisting SMEs to access capital for growth and support for international market entry.

Raiyo often takes a hands-on role as professional start-up CEO, focusing on accessing capital, establishing the team, developing the right culture to drive the commercialisation strategy and working to ensure effective stakeholder management, especially in the 'dark' times.

He's had the opportunity to work all sides of the start-up game, and has therefore learnt more than his share of lessons, which allows him to provide entrepreneurs seeking capital and support for growth and development with a 360o perspective.
