Joolor is a platform which aims to help users search for, track, and share information about activities and events. Joolor stands for “Joyful and Colorful” events. In Chinese, Joolor is translated as 就樂， namely，just for fun. Joolor’s vision is “to become the first mobile & online events initiation checking, enrolment and sharing platform focus on universities students in Hong Kong and Mainland China”.   Problem:  Students’ perspective  According to our research, students feel difficult to find their interested event from a large pool of uncategorized events they receive through different channel.   Students feel annoyed to receive so many junk emails promoting their uninterested events.   Many students complaint that some events will amend their dates and avenues without efficient notification to them.  Organization’s perspective  According to the research, 75% organizations conduct their events promotion and registration through email and then process registration results manually, which brings heavy workload, increases cost and time required to organizations.   Human errors such as sending wrong information or missing necessary items on email and poster may bring troubles to organizations and destroy their images.  Some events may have low attendance rate due to limited promotion and insufficient channels between organizations and participants.   Small-and-medium size organizations have limited resources and exposures to students.  There are limited channels for event organizers to cooperate with each other to organize joint-organization events.   To solve these problems, Joolor sets university students as our target users and seeks corporations with student organizations, NGOs and specific business partners to publish events. Events are generated and displayed according to 6 themes, including workshops, parties, concerts, charitable activities, etc. according to our research from university students’ event preference. Joolor also provides technical support to partners such as student organizations by facilitating their activities booking with our platform.
