Heart Buddy is an ICT project with the vision to leverage hardware and mobile technology to help monitor and manage the heart situation and health status of people in Hong Kong and China. It is our ultimate goal to control the heart disease situation, and reduce the number of heart diseases patients in Hong Kong and China.

Our mission is to provide an electrocardiographic (ECG) jacket embedded with measurement electronics to record and track the heart status, mainly the rate of the heartbeat, of our users. The jacket will be conveniently wearable, non-interfering, comfortable, and reliable, devised by our partnering professor in City University of Hong Kong (details please see part 4.3 and pictures’ links in “Additional Information”). We will also provide with our users a mobile application, which serves as a platform and management tool to store the data output from the jacket, and offer personalized medical advice, nutrition and physical fitness suggestion from partnering doctors and professionals to users to help them manage their diseases or healthy lifestyle. 

We position ourselves in the mobile & wearable healthcare industry in Hong Kong and later China. We specifically position our project and product to patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases and people who face relatively higher risks to be inflicted by heart diseases in Hong Kong and China. Sport-lovers will also be our future targets and we will enable them to pay attention to their sports performance (VO2max, Heartbeat rate after exercise, etc.) and their heart status (avoid sudden heart attack).
