Close to 100 innovative tech projects to compete at IPIEC Global 2019 Hong Kong Chapter ![]() The Intellectual Property Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest (IPIEC) Global Hong Kong Chapter has attracted close to 100 project entries in a month-long recruitment since its kicked-off in end of August 2019. This globally prominent innovation and entrepreneurship competition organised its Hong Kong Chapter for the second time and is co-organised and staged at Cyberport this year together with the Hong Kong and Mainland Government, Angel Investment Foundation and wtoip.com.
The submissions collected are of high quality and great innovation from a wide variety of tech sectors including Fintech, artificial intelligence/big data, internet of things, smart manufacturing, digital entertainment, health-tech, infrastructure software, new energy and more. Many of these entries have indicated their interests to match with the technology requirements among the 10 enterprises including WorkTech, TeamWork Capital and Angel Investment Fund.
The project assessment will be conducted alongside the matchmaking of the 10 tech demands. The top ten contestants will be announced after mid-October where they will deliver their final pitch on 6 November at the Final Contest to the judging panel comprising over 10 industry experts from investor, academia and enterprises community.
The 10 finalists competing at the Final Contest will be awarded benefits including fast track interview opportunity for the Cyberport Incubation Programme, three-month free use of the Cyberport Smart-Space and WTOIP Intellectual Property Valley, and fast-track application for the Investment Risk Compensation Plan under Angel Investment Foundation. Winners of the Hong Kong Chapter will represent Hong Kong to compete in the Global Semi Final and then the Global Grand Final against other international contestants to win US$100,000 cash prize.
The final contest will also stage the IPIEC Corporate Innovation Investment Summit session where leaders from commercial sector, venture capitals and academia will discuss corporate innovation and start-ups investment.
IPIEC Global 2019 Hong Kong Chapter is another spotlight of Cyberport Venture Capital Forum (CVCF) 2019.
