Negawatt drives “negative watts” and energy savings for building owners
Turning traditional buildings into smart buildings and helping them achieve “negative watts” is what Negawatt is about. This start-up at Cyberport Smart-Space has developed a proprietary Building Operating System (BOS) that enables building owners to quickly optimise energy use and enjoy significant energy savings of 10% or more.  It is no wonder that the company’s solutions are trusted by many big property developers in town.
The core feature among Negawatt’s offerings is its BOS.  This proprietary cloud-based solution works as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Virtual Engineer that enables users to easily collect, analyse, understand, and manage all building information gathered from millions to billions of data points.  Negawatt’s proprietary algorithms will integrate all the collected data with its proprietary modules to help property owners improve energy efficiency, boost productivity, and optimise resources for building excellence.
Additionally, Negawatt’s NBIoT solutions, which can be seamlessly integrated with the BOS, allow easy preventive maintenance.  Users can monitor real-time building conditions, such as indoor environmental quality, and even be alerted to floods and security breaches.
Best of all, Negawatt’s solutions can be implemented in any buildings within a day, such that property owners can realise apparent ROI and energy savings in few months.
During the past year, more than 70 buildings in Hong Kong were registered with Negawatt’s solutions.  These include properties of Chinachem, MTR, Cheung Kong, Sino, Hysan, Henderson Land, and Nan Fung.  In addition, CBRE, the world’s biggest property and facility management company, and Carrier, one of the world’s largest air conditioning manufacturers, have become clients of Negawatt.
“We are working weekly with different Cyberport teams, and everyone is keen to help promote our technology. We are very grateful to Cyberport for helping Negawatt gain useful industrial exposure with good business potential,” said Arthur Lam, CEO of Negawatt. “Currently, we are working with Cyberport’s facility management team to establish our working case study for Cyberport.”
