Digital solutions created by Cyberport start-ups to manage and mitigate the pandemic have been multiplying on the Braving the Epidemic platform since the outbreak. For individuals, families, and businesses upended by the COVID topsy-turvy, these solutions, covering Distance Learning and Home Office, Medical and Healthcare, Insurance and Relief Fund, and Household and Workplace Improvement, have offered much relief and convenience to everyday lives and businesses.
During the Connected Cities Conference at the StartmeupHK Festival 2020, Cyberport start-ups – Negawatt Utility, FindDoc, iSTEM AI Lab, and MAD Gaze – shared their experiences in “Braving the Epidemic – Innovation in the New Normal” with Cyberport CEO Peter Yan.
The start-ups discussed how they utilised their innovative strengths to help keep Hong Kong going amid a global pandemic. They reminisced about the challenges they faced and the gratitude they received from users. All of these experiences, the panellists said, offered them hope and confidence in Hong Kong’s innovative future.
Instrumental in any I&T endeavour is digital talent. At the Deep Dive session, Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, joined a panel of experts to examine the “Human Capital Equation”. He offered an overview of the range of subsidy schemes and programmes that Cyberport provides and highlighted how these initiatives fostered the development of human capital that will enable Hong Kong to contend for long-term success and stay resilient in the digital world.
The Connected Cities Conference was hosted by KPMG with Cyberport as strategic partner. |
