Clim8 raises €2.75M Series A funding to take its patented e-textiles to broader markets |

Clim8,
a French start-up from Cyberport community that develops intelligent
thermal textiles, recently completed a Series A round and raised €2.75
million. The round was led by investors with extensive expertise
in deep-tech and industrial innovation, including Seventure Partners,
Agileo Ventures, and the Deveaux Group.
Clim8’s patented technology uses tiny thermal sensors embedded in
the textile to monitor the wearer’s skin temperature in real time. Then,
depending on the wearer’s environment, activity, and specified
preferences, the system activates or deactivates heating zones to
regulate the temperature and keep the wearer comfortably warm.
Additional personalisation settings are also possible using Clim8’s
accompanying app.
Since founding the company in 2016 and spending its formative
years with the Cyberport Incubation Programme, Clim8 now generates more
than 50% of its sales from abroad. Its intelligent textile is being
incorporated into the products of premium outdoor sports equipment
brands in Europe (Odlo, Ixon), South Korea (K2 Korea), Japan (The North
Face), and the US (W.L. Gore, Burton).
The fresh capital will enable Clim8 to bring its technologies to
new industries (including industrial and defence) and international
markets, to consolidate its R&D department and create the “Clim8
Lab”, which will empower the start-up’s product development, prototyping
capabilities and further expand its IP portfolio. Clim8 will also
build new strategic collaborations to strengthen the Clim8 team,
bolster its growth, and extend its leadership in the connected textiles
market.
