Cyberport is committed to working with industry partners to provide additional support to start-ups. Last month, Cyberport and IBM China/Hong Kong entered into a collaboration to offer selected community start-ups with priority admission to the Startup with IBM programme.

The collaboration is an initiative under the Cyberport Technology Network (CTN), which was set up to enable start-ups to tap the cutting-edge technologies, tools, and services of leading global tech corporations and to gain extra firepower for their innovations.

Start-ups which participate in this top-notch programme will receive up to US$120,000 of cloud credits and gain access to leading experts and enterprise-grade cloud, data, IoT, blockchain, and AI technologies. These include IBM Watson, IBM Blockchain, IBM Analytics, and IBM Security.  Two tiers of membership are available for start-ups in different stages of development – Builder and Premium.

“We are proud to present IBM as CTN’s latest key member, and under the collaboration, each qualified Cyberport start-up will receive free credits to utilise IBM tools and services. We are confident this will help them create the best version of their solutions,” said Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport.

IBM will also connect participants with its global client network for business-matching opportunities and with ‘IBM Developer Advocates’ through ‘Architecture Review and Whiteboarding Sessions’ to gain expert support.

All of this is intended to help start-ups get their innovations to market faster and to leverage the industry’s latest technologies and know-how, such as AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity, so as to enhance and strengthen their innovations.
