Cyberport community nabs 31 awards at the ETNet FinTech Awards 2020

Cyberport’s FinTech community again scored an array of awards at the annual ETNet FinTech Awards 2020.  29 community members claimed a total of 31 awards, including “FinTech of the Year 2020”, “FinTech of the Year 2020 in Start-up”, and the newly created “Adversity Award in Good Use of FinTech Technology”.

Entering its fourth edition, the Awards was themed “Shaping a Sustainable FinTech Future” echoing the city’s burgeoning FinTech development.   The winning entries represent advanced FinTech development with significant contributions in a wide range of fields - from blockchain applications, cybersecurity/anti-fraud, FX/payment, insurance, and RegTech to retail/supply chain management, cross-border trading, virtual banking, and wealth investment/management.

Proudly, the two top awards were both claimed by Cyberport community members - WeLab was crowned “FinTech of the Year 2020” and its virtual bank, WeLab Bank, was recognised as an “Outstanding Time Deposit Product Platform”.

Meanwhile, Digital Transaction clinched the “FinTech of the Year 2020 in Start-up” award and earned the “Outstanding Real Time Monitoring Blockchain Application System Solution” recognition. Its ParallelChain™, billed the world’s first and only hybrid distributed ledger, boasts the capacity to process transactions significantly faster than comparable products in the market and features exceptional interoperability with other blockchain platforms, such as Ethereum. The product has already been adopted by many governments and companies engaged in financial and smart city-related businesses in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, and Europe.
