Cyberport Virtual Career Fair returned with more openings and new GBA opportunities

⋯⋯⋯⋯

The Cyberport Virtual Career Fair returned for a brand-new edition on 12-13 March. At a time when demand for I&T-related jobs continues to grow, and digital transformation accelerates across society, this year’s Fair gathered more than 170 large enterprises, technology companies, and start-ups, including tech heavyweight Amazon Web Services (AWS), Hong Kong Broadband Network and Cyberport community member WeLab Bank, offering more than 1,300 vacancies I&T related job positions ranging from FinTech, smart living (such as EdTech and eCommerce), digital entertainment and esports, artificial intelligence and big data, blockchain, and cybersecurity.

Catering to the growing interest in Greater Bay Area opportunities, this year’s Fair debuted dedicated virtual booths to showcase more than 200 vacancies provided by Cyberport community companies under the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme, providing easy access to job seekers who wish to pursue careers in the mainland and learn more about the potential of the GBA I&T market.

Jobs aside, the Fair organised 50+ career-related webinars and recruitment talks and hosted a range of free career development resources to help participants understand the industry’s recruitment trends and ways to take part. These included CV Clinics, career assessment sessions, and one-on-one online career consultations conducted by six professional HR firms.

The virtual platform will remain open until mid-April, allowing job seekers to continue browse job openings and review the recorded seminar sessions. Positions on the current platform will then be available on “iTalent”, the new integrated innovation and technology (I&T) talent acquisition platform to be launched by Cyberport in April, helping Cyberport community members find the right talents, providing opportunities for young people with aspirations to join the I&T industry, while continuously expanding the talent pool by attracting newcomers into the ecosystem.

Dr George Lam, Chairman of Cyberport, said in his welcome address, “Cyberport has been endeavouring to assist those with aspirations to join the innovation and technology field to unleash their potential, and the launch of the integrated tech talent acquisition platform iTalent exemplifies these efforts. Job seekers, including fresh graduates from local tertiary institutions, will gain easy access to the latest market trends, and be able to look for and apply for the latest available job openings, and this can lower the costs of recruitment for employers, ultimately contributing to the acceleration of Hong Kong’s digital transformation and innovation and technology development.”
