Cyberport endeavours to spearhead FinTech’s development, forming an entrepreneurship ecosystem with support in funding, incubation programmes, and office and investor networks. Cyberport also nurtured the growth of artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain development to establish Hong Kong as a smart city and a financial flagship of Asia. Over two-thirds of the FinTech businesses in Hong Kong are Cyberport community members, ranging from Digital Asset, Cryptocurrency, RegTech, Virtual Insurance and Banking, WealthTech and ESG.
The adoption of FinTech has injected new impetus for financial innovation in Hong Kong. “On one hand, FinTech has given rise to challenges in the traditional financial industry,” said Victor Yim, Head of FinTech of Cyberport, “on the other hand, it has also provided financial institutions with new driving forces, such as product innovation, digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence, which powered the long-term development of the financial industry.”
