The Cyberport Venture Capital Forum (CVCF) will return on 27-28 October at Cyberport with the theme of “Thriving in the Dynamic: Refocusing for Growth”.  This year the Forum will engage over 100 leaders in venture capital and tech industry to look into the new situation of the global venture capital market, investors and start-up financing strategies, new opportunities in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) markets and beyond, as well as the development of start-ups and venture capital prospects in the field of smart living under the receding epidemic and the changing geopolitical environment.

Global venture leaders including Alibaba Group, Primavera Capital, Gobi Partners, Chuangxin Industry, HSBC Ventures, KPMG, Morgan Stanley Asia Limited, Vickers Venture, Lightspeed Venture, China Resources Capital, Quest Ventures, Amino Capital, Radiant Tech Ventures, Greater Bay Area Homeland Investments Limited, Guangzhou Nansha Service Centre in Hong Kong and Da Heng Qin Group will offer insights in across more than 20 topics with regards to the market outlook and investment trends in Hong Kong, GBA, Asia and globally, and also tapping into specific industry areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, FinTech, green finance, HealthTech/MedTech, meta-universe, Construction Tech, digital entertainment/SportsTech, SpaceTech, IPO/M&A, and more.  The event opening will also celebrate the 5th anniversary of Cyberport Investors Network (CIN).

CVCF’s spotlight event on 28 October “Smart Living Venture Day” will focus on the start-up development and investment prospects EdTech, ArtTech, GeronTech and SocialTech.

Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport, said “The National 14th Five-Year Plan explicitly supports Hong Kong to develop as an international I&T hub. In light of the new trend of the venture capital market, this year’s CVCF is particularly meaningful as it provides a platform for start-ups and venture capital funds to connect, facilitate start-ups’ financing needs, promote the application of innovative technologies in the field, and capture the opportunities arising from the economic recovery. Cyberport will continue to connect investors and the innovation community through CIN and Cyberport Macro Fund (CMF), and motivate start-ups to seize the development opportunities in GBA and the Asian markets to enable a thriving venture capital ecosystem.”

Also on 28 October will be start-up workshop to delve into business and funding strategies, and 1-on-1 start-up clinic will be hosted by some of Cyberport Professional Service Partners offering free consultation services covering topics such as marketing, legal, technology and financing.

CVCF’s Investor Matching Session let start-ups and investors arrange matchmaking meetings based on industry type and investment preference, available onsite on main forum day plus online via CVCF’s event platform.  The hybrid event format also presents a handful of onsite solution showcases and many more virtual exhibitors on the event platform.  The online platform will open from mid-October where attendees could schedule meetings and visit virtual showcases, watch live forum/workshop sessions, power pitches, join start-up clinic and visit on-demand contents post-event over a month’s period.
