The diversity, creativity, and excellence of Cyberport community start-ups and solutions once again captured the spotlight at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2022. Last month, 27 start-ups won a total of 31 awards across seven categories.
With innovative solutions that included blockchain-powered credentials, microinsurance, and ESG solutions, as well as acoustic technology, flight simulation, and smart urban farming, the start-ups demonstrated the vision and applicability of digital solutions, as well as the plethora of I&T talent in Hong Kong that developed them.
Major honours were bestowed upon start-ups across Cyberport’s core clusters: six awards were given to FinTech start-ups, including one gold, two silver, and one bronze. Smart Living received 14 awards, comprising one grand, four gold, three silver, and two bronze. Digital Entertainment start-ups also took home six awards, including one grand, two gold, and one silver.
Start-ups specialising in smart mobile farming, TCM tracing, an omnichannel social commerce platform, and EdTech also won five awards in the “ICT Startup Award” category.
“We are extremely proud that our community’s start-ups consistently produce innovative solutions with market value and social impact. The awards are evidence of industry recognition of the Cyberport community’s innovative prowess,” said Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport. “Cyberport will continue its efforts to cultivate innovative talent, support digital technology start-ups, and build an entrepreneurial ecosystem to facilitate I&T’s advancement in our country and Hong Kong.”
