To help Cyberport community companies expand into the Mainland market and support Mainland companies venturing overseas, Cyberport has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Shanghai Lingang Economic Development Group, which operates more than 20 industrial parks in Mainland China housing over 13,000 companies, including 200+ Fortune 500 enterprises. The strategic partnership will see the sister parks support each other’s I&T companies and help them scale up.
Specifically, Lingang Group will provide comprehensive guidance, including resource matching and policy advisory services, to companies recommended by Cyberport to help them establish a foothold in the Mainland market.
Cyberport will leverage its international connections to assist companies recommended by Lingang Group in exploring markets abroad. It will also help the companies apply to the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund, Cyberport Incubation Programme, and Cyberport Accelerator Support Programme.
“Through our strategic partnership with Lingang Group, we hope to provide young entrepreneurs and start-ups in both Hong Kong and Shanghai access to more resources, opportunities, and application scenarios to advance their I&T ambitions,” said Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport. “In addition, Cyberport will work with tertiary institutions in Shanghai to provide internship and entrepreneurship opportunities at Cyberport. Lingang Group, meanwhile, will help our companies expand into Shanghai and even the Yangtze River Delta. The partnership will usher in a new chapter of collaboration for the two cities and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as an international I&T hub.”
