Cyberport unicorn Animoca Brands and a leading Cyberport FinTech start-up Hex Trust have teamed up to launch Gryfyn, an innovative custodial crypto wallet for Web3 users. In addition to being a significant development in driving the adoption of Web3, the joint venture marks one of the most notable collaborations between Cyberport community companies to date.
Gryfyn is an NFT-centric multi-chain wallet that allows users to easily and securely store, use, and acquire digital assets and Web3 products across blockchains. Users can interact with their favourite Web3 experiences, such as games, sports, music, education, and transportation, with unparalleled peace of mind – as Gryfyn is built on Hex Trust’s licenced and insured institutional-grade infrastructure.
Gryfyn has raised US$7.5 million in funding from Liberty City Ventures, GameFi Ventures, Lavender Hill Capital Partners, Mind Fund, Animoca Ventures, LeadBlock Partners, Angel Hub, Brinc, and angel investors such as Gabby Dizon. Arnoldo Concepción, co-COO of Animoca Brands, has been appointed CEO of Gryfyn.
The wallet was soft launched to a warm reception during Hong Kong Fintech Week 2022. It has since attracted a range of global partners, and the company plans to launch new features and activation events throughout 2023.
According to Yat Siu, executive chairman and co-founder of Animoca Brands, Gryfyn will enable a larger population to participate in the open metaverse and enjoy digital property rights. Alessio Quaglini, the CEO and co-founder of Hex Trust, called the launch of Gryfyn a milestone in unlocking digital ownership in decentralised markets.
