Traditional pet memorial services may leave pet owners longing for a more personalised and meaningful way to honour their beloved companions and find solace in their loss. Cyberport start-up Metamory has created an innovative commemoration platform Petamory to accomplish this.
Pet owners can use Petamory’s solution to create highly personalised 3D avatars of their pets. This not only captures the pets’ appearance, but also their unique movements and quirks. When the inevitable happens, pet owners can continue to interact with their pets’ avatars via augmented reality, preserving their memory in a deeply immersive and touching manner.
In addition, the start-up offers AI-assisted emotional support and grief counselling to help pet owners work through their grieving process. They can engage in heartfelt conversations with the start-up’s compassionate AI assistant to find closure and healing. The platform also fosters a caring community of pet owners who support one another during difficult times.
Recognising that end-of-life planning can significantly reduce the burden of loss, Petamory offers pre-death planning services as well. These services enable pet owners to make thoughtful arrangements for their pet’s afterlife care.
The start-up has formed a partnership with Grief Me Light, an online platform that provides life and death education and support for those grappling with grief. This has allowed Petamory to reach a larger audience and promote its services. It is now actively exploring strategic partnerships and collaborations, including in Mainland China.
