RODS, a Cyberport community company specialising in AI robotics for the aesthetics industry, has raised HK$6.5 million in a Pre-A funding round and RMB20 million in a joint venture with companies on Mainland China.
The company has developed and patented an AI robotic laser skin rejuvenation system for beauty and aesthetic skin treatments. The hand-held device, along with the company’s proprietary DermMesh and PathOS systems, is designed to deliver intelligent, precise, safe, and automated laser dermatology procedures. Customers can experience enhanced outcomes at a lower cost. Using the system, beauty centres and dermatology clinics can efficiently meet the growing demand for cosmetic dermatology with less reliance on highly trained personnel performing largely repetitive procedures.
RODS has already established strategic partnerships with Good Union Hong Kong, a major medical device distributor. The new funding will enable RODS to pursue additional R&D and expand its product line to include robotic laser hair removal HR1 PRO and AI Hydra X laser for skin revitalization.
In the coming six months, the company aims to launch two express beauty centres in Hong Kong to showcase its cutting-edge technology and innovations. Through franchise arrangements, it will open 20 more express beauty centres across Hong Kong.
RODS is also looking into collaborations with partners in Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia to expand its global presence.
