Cyberport, Finoverse, and the World Green Organisation co-host the first Hong Kong Green FinTech Summit

⋯⋯⋯⋯

To help Hong Kong develop as an international hub for GreenTech and green finance (GreenFi), Cyberport collaborated with Finoverse and the World Green Organisation to host the inaugural Hong Kong Green FinTech Summit. The event coincided with the Hong Kong Green Week, an initiative by the HKSAR Government.

With over 500 attendees and insights from more than 30 financial experts specialising in ESG investment, carbon trading, blockchain, and other emerging fields, the summit served as a forward-thinking platform to explore the fusion of AI and Web3 into Green FinTech for a sustainable future. Participants also gained knowledge about the advancements in FinTech, GreenTech, and GreenFi in Hong Kong.

In his welcoming remarks, Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport, underscored the transformative potential of Green FinTech: “Green FinTech transcends mere compliance; it propels innovation and technology adoption for sustainable finance. This summit aims to stimulate more GreenTech and GreenFi applications, accelerate the development of Hong Kong’s Green FinTech ecosystem, and reinforce our city’s position as a global hub for GreenTech and GreenFi.”

The main venue of the summit, the “Green House”, served as a focal point for thought leadership, hosting discussions among government officials, financial regulators, and business executives on the latest developments and strategies in GreenFi innovation.

Simultaneously, a sub-venue named the “Tech Lab” showcased promising GreenTech R&D start-ups from across the globe, including two start-ups from Cyberport: Youjivest, a platform for climate risk and ESG solutions, and PortageBay, an AI-powered sustainability analysis platform.

Furthermore, six members of the Cyberport community presented their latest solutions at the exhibition area. These included Diginex (specialising in blockchain reporting), BlueOnion (offering sustainable development funding), PropCap (providing overseas real estate mortgage matching), Evident (focused on alternative asset investment), Coded Solution (offering a digital gold management system), and Anlan Infotech (specialising in shipping and green energy insurance). They provided practical tools, solutions, and fresh ideas for achieving a greener future.
