Cyberport alumnus Roborn enhances efficiency in healthcare with smart robots

⋯⋯⋯⋯

In addition to the existing Cyberport Incubation Programmes (CIP), Cyberport recently launched the "CIP for Smart Living Start-ups" to provide comprehensive entrepreneurial support to smart living start-ups. This includes up to HKD 500,000 in financial assistance, rent-free working space, one-on-one business matching opportunities, and connections with partners and mentors in the smart living industry, all aimed at accelerating business growth for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Mark Mak, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Roborn, a technology R&D company specialising in 5G motion-control robots, is one of the CIP beneficiaries. With the support of the programme, Roborn has been continuously developing intelligent robots applicable to various fields, successfully realising their entrepreneurial vision. It has also brought numerous breakthroughs to Hong Kong's technology and innovation (I&T) sector.

Recently, Roborn introduced the second-generation smart robot, CARE, which collaborates with government hospitals to further enhances the efficiency of medical work.

CARE not only performs complex mechanical tasks in ICU wards but also allows doctors to operate remotely, reducing the time spent on round trips to patient rooms, enables a better understanding of patients' needs. CARE helps alleviate the work pressure on healthcare professionals, enhances coordination between hospitals and medical staff, and provides patients with more efficient and appropriate treatment. This is a significant step forward in the development of intelligent healthcare applications in Hong Kong.
