Data Centre Facility Management Engineer (Ref# DCFME20241002W)

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Oversee, plan and manage all aspects of data centre facility management and the associated operations to ensure reliable and secure operations of data center infrastructure for hosting AI supercomputing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in building service, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields.
  • Proven track record with solid experience in structural cabling, computer rack, power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression systems security systems, sprinkler systems, generator, DCIM and UPS systems.
  • Experience with mission critical data centre infrastructure and facility maintenance and incident response.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of data centre facility engineers to maintain and support 7x24 high-availability, reliable and secure operations of data centre.
  • Understanding high performance computing technologies such as GPU and NPU, and their associated facility requirements such as electricity, interconnects, network fabrics and storage capabilities. 
  • Knowledge in data centre liquid cooling technology would be an advantage. 
  • Understanding Uptime standards and TIA-942 design standards for data centre management would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Formulate strategy and roadmap of cybersecurity management to safeguard information assets and protect against cyber and technology risks.

  • Configure, operate and maintain the CPU/GPU computing node and its system software, AI software stack and development libraries, AI operational management platforms (i.e. technical infrastructure) of the AI supercomputing systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical infrastructure policy, standards and procedures of AI supercomputing systems to align with industry standards, frameworks and good practices.
  • Collaborate with technical infrastructure hardware and software suppliers to optimise AI frameworks and their development environment and libraries to maximise performance and effectiveness for adopting the AI supercomputing systems.
  • Manage technical infrastructure outsourcing services and their contractual agreements, implement effective measures to improve effectiveness, compliance and quality of the service delivery, manage the relationship with the outsourcing partners.
  • Define system-level requirements including processing power, memory capacity, I/O bandwidth, storage and interconnect capabilities to optimise for the operations and performance of AI supercomputing systems.
  • Conduct performance analysis, benchmarking and modeling to identify performance bottlenecks, optimise system parameters and guide the technical infrastructure enhancements.
  • Evaluate emerging AI supercomputing technologies, including GPU processor, network fabrics, storage and interconnects for the continuous advancement of AI supercomputing systems based on technical requirements, performance characteristics and cost considerations.
  • Collaborate with subject domain experts to understand the specific requirements of scientific research and data-intensive workloads for using the AI supercomputing systems and propose appropriate technical infrastructure enhancements to manage the workloads.
  • Provide necessary support to conduct risk assessment, evaluate infrastructure control effectiveness and mitigate associated risks.
  • Monitor and analyse technical infrastructure events and alerts; identify and respond to infrastructure related risks, incidents and breaches.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI supercomputing hardware, software and industry trends to guide future infrastructure design and technology adoption.
  • Provide appropriate technical guidance, training and support for effective use of the AI supercomputing systems.
  • Prepare management information, key matrices and reports for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • 10+ year proven experience as a technical infrastructure specialist covering CPU/GPU computing node and its system software, AI software stack and development libraries, and AI operational management platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in computer engineering, information and communication technology, AI and data science, software engineering or related fields.
  • Experience in AI supercomputing infrastructure and system design, including CPU/GPU computing node and its system software, AI software stack and development libraries, and AI operational management platforms.
  • Experience in designing and optimising AI supercomputing infrastructure and systems for business, scientific, research, or data-intensive applications.
  • Experience in adopting hardware acceleration technologies such as GPU and NPU.
  • Understanding of performance analysis and optimization techniques for parallel computing, including profiling, tracing, and performance counters.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard interconnects and network fabrics and their impact on performance of AI supercomputing systems.
  • Knowledge of parallel programming models and frameworks and their application to AI supercomputing workloads.
  • Experience with AI supercomputing software stack components, such as compilers, runtime systems, job schedulers, and development libraries.
  • Experience in using deep learning framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffee.
  • Understanding of programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, R and CUDA for building and implementing AI systems.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to analyse and address complex performance and scalability challenges.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly evolving technological landscape.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and subject domain experts.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Passion with AI technical architecture, infrastructure and systems.
  • Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for Manager position.

Head/Senior Manager - Legal and Compliance (Ref# SMLC240612W)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising the board and management on legal and compliance risk exposures relating to specific business initiatives/arrangements
  • Engaging internal business functions closely to keep close to matters that may require attention of legal and compliance functions
  • Providing strategic legal guidance on various business transactions, including partnerships, ventures, contracts, leases, and investment
  • Managing all corporate legal processes such as intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, compliance issues, transactions, partnerships, and lawsuits
  • Managing and standardising contract templates (e.g. commercial contract templates, MoU templates, etc.) and advising business units internally
  • Reviewing internal policies and standards, monitoring their execution across the corporate, and working together with internal audit functions as required
  • Working with HR functions on employment legal matters such as complaints / disputes, and assisting in internal investigation
  • Justifying when external legal engagement is absolutely required, managing external counsel on specific engagements (e.g. litigation cases, mega-projects like construction) to ensure effective communication, and driving down external legal costs
  • Serving as corporate statutory or regulatory roles (e.g. data protection officer) and acting as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and government agencies
  • Working with top management in response to incidents with legal and compliance risks
  • Monitor regulatory changes that affect the sector and ensure that the company complies with relevant laws and statutes
  • Conducting internal training sessions, e.g. what the business units would need to watch out for when they negotiate confidentiality agreements and memorandum of understanding, which typically takes place before lawyers are involved
  • Handling any other legal and compliance matters
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • 8- 12 years post-qualification experience gained from reputable law firms or large corporates
  • Hong Kong or commonwealth qualified lawyer with excellent technical legal knowledge
  • Solid experience in commercial and corporate legal matters, especially in property rental, investment, data, and technologies
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation
  • Analytical with strong commercial sense, excellent communications and inter-personal skills, mature, self-motivated, detail-oriented
  • Fluency in English and Chinese

The position is on a renewable 2-year fixed-term contract (subject to performance and operational needs).
