Internal Private Network

The Internal Private Network (IPN), Cyberport's backbone for Internet access, is a unique IT&T facility unlike standard market broadband products, with 4GB Ethernet uplinks and pay-as-you-go bandwidth to accommodate unanticipated increases in user demand. Tenants receive two IPN ports at 100 Mbps local shared bandwidth free of charge after a one-time installation fee, and can subscribe for GE ports if higher or dedicated international bandwidth is required at a cost of only $1,000/Mbps per month (up to 1Gbps) through the Cyberport Optical Network (CON).

IPN ports can support both IPv4 and IPv6. Each IPN port subscription comes with one free public IPv4 address which will be assigned by the system automatically. In the event that a fixed IPv4 address is required, tenants must submit the MAC address of their interconnecting network device for registration. For IPv6 addresses, a prefix of 48 will be allocated upon request at no additional charge. An 8-IP network (with three usable IP addresses) will be allocated if more fixed IPs per port are required, with an administration fee of HK$120 per month per 8-IP network address. [APNIC regulations restrict us to 16 public IP addresses per tenant; any requests beyond this must be submitted via NOC and HKCMCL to APNIC for prior approval.]
