Cyberport to host region's first cross platform developers’ summit |
Cyberport will partner with the Internet Society
Hong Kong and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) to host
the World Internet Developers' Summit in March, the region's first ever
cross-platform developers' event, focusing on HTML5.
The two-day action packed event will connect the industry's greatest minds with
the latest internet development, news, and various development platform
techniques, bringing together representatives from the forefront of technology,
including organisations like the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Microsoft,
Facebook, Yahoo! and Mozilla.
Industry leaders offer their views on HTML5 at Cyberport on 6 March, Philippe Le
Hegaret, head of the W3C Interaction Domain, will deliver the keynote speech
with his views on the significance of HTML5 while Giorgio Sardo, Sr. Evangelism
Manager, Microsoft Corporation will focus on building HTML5 Metro style apps on
Window 8. Add to that, David Lim, a Partner Engineer at Facebook, will
help participants better understand how best to bring the web into mobile apps
and Marcus Chan, Yahoo's Director of Engineering for Asia products, will discuss
building web apps with YUI and YQL.
Practical workshops at the HKSPT on the second day will help shape the
theoretical concepts. Workshops include a session on taking your web app
offline with Tim Chien, a Software Engineer at Mozilla, and a hands-on YUI
workshop given by Chien Hung Chen, a Front End Engineer at Yahoo!.
