Cyberport’s past and present incubatees on Red Herring Asia list |
Four Cyberport incubatees and incubatee alumni have
been named to Red Herring’s Top 100 Asia Award list, an elite gathering of the
region’s finest private companies, in celebration of their innovations and
technologies across their respective industries.
3D Avatar School, a former Cyberport incubatee, was extremely pleased to receive
the award. "Being part of this exclusive group of the best companies in Asia is
a great honour," said Claus Nehmzow, founder and CEO of 3D Avatar School. The
company combines multi-user online games and live teachers to help teenagers
learn English across the region. Incubatee Innopage, which helps traditional publishers to easily turn printed
materials into interactive and multimedia format ready for worldwide paid
distribution on mobile devices, was also selected. "We are so honoured to be on
the list together with so many other celebrated industry peers. We will continue
to work hard to create user friendly, expandable and scalable products that help
people in this interactive, social media age," said Keith Li, Co- founder and CEO of Innopage Limited. Alumni Leovation, the only Hong Kong company to win the award in the
entertainment and media category, was recognized for providing augmented reality
experiences, human scale motion based interactive experiences and hologram 3D
experiences, to its clients. "We were very much excited to win the Red Herring
Asia award this year, but we were even more moved by the incredible innovations
of the other companies that were in attendance at the event. I'm very excited to
work alongside with them to continue with more innovation and technological
growth and leadership throughout Asia." said Andrew Pang, founder and the CEO of
Leovation Limited. Smoothweb, which offers customers a cloud platform to publish multiple
interactive social mashups for all known media types, was another thrilled
recipient. "We look forward to helping our customers deliver exciting
interactive web and mobile content to any device," said Brendan McMahon,
co-founder and CEO of Smoothweb Group. The winners will go on to compete at the
global level later in the year. "Cyberport is extremely pleased of these outstanding achievements. We wish
all of you every success in the future. We will continue to do everything
possible to nurture and foster the talent of tomorrow," said Herman Lam, CEO of
Cyberport.
