Cyberport summer interns return to classroom with confidence and drive |
Cyberport took on its
largest intake of interns this year, a programme aimed at nurturing and
developing the skills and interests of young people, and lies at the heart of a
commitment towards developing the next generation of talent.
Five interns were
admitted on to the scheme and were allocated to a range of departments including
finance and accounting, marketing, the Technology Centre and the
Entrepreneurship Centre.
The internships offered
the students real hands on work experience as well as an insight into the ICT
industry.
"Being an intern at
Cyberport was fruitful and productive. It was also a good opportunity for me to
integrate the knowledge obtained from school, and apply this into real work
situations. After the internship period, I became more active, confident and
well organized," said Jasmine Lee, an intern at the Entrepreneurship Centre.
Cyberport offered Miss
Lee the opportunity to widen her horizons, and illustrated how a company and
office operated, advantages that come only from work experiences outside of the
classroom.
"Internships are the
best way for young people to learn and improve themselves. I am pleased that our
internship programme is able to provide such opportunities for young talent,"
said Herman Lam, CEO of Cyberport.
