Inbound Delegations
We supported “Silicon Dragon Hong Kong 2013” on 18 April,
featuring speakers from multinationals, emerging companies
and investors who provided advice on entering the China
market.
We invited a delegation from Silicon Valley led by Archimedes
Lab which was comprised of 9 venture capitalists and angel
investors from Silicon Valley in October 2013. Cyberport
arranged a three-day programme on talent exchanges and
networking among the US and Hong Kong investors, start-ups
and their Mainland counterparts.
We organised the US delegates to participate in the event
“Cyberport Speakers Series — Fundraising in Silicon Valley” on
funding requirements and founder challenges in Silicon Valley.
This was followed by a day tour of Shenzhen High-tech
Industrial Park, Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Company
Limited and InnoValley, an incubator in Shenzhen. Finally, the
“Speed-dating with Silicon Valley VCs” event on 11 October
2013 brought together 22 local start-ups to pitch in front of 8
venture capitalists, angel investors and mentors.
A networking lunch and seminar was held on 4 December 2013
with the representative of Consulate-General of Japan in Hong
Kong and the Japanese delegates from Knowledge Capital and
Japanese companies. The event featured 6 speakers from
Knowledge Capital and 2 from Hong Kong, while 19 business
matching sessions were arranged.
At the “Tech Leader Growth Forum 2013” at Cyberport in
December, we co-organised a seminar with UK Trade &
Investment and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. Discussions
focused on new market opportunities cloud services could bring
and the changing technology landscape across Asia Pacific.
