My Innovation Carnival

My Innovation Carnival was a family-friendly event held for the

first time during the summer of 2013 to inspire creativity,

showcase practical inventions and promote new technology

through a study-and-play environment. Visitors were able to buy

innovative products and conceptual items at the booths, learn

about science principles in the game zones, take part in DIY

workshops, and visit award-winning technology invention

exhibition from local and overseas developers.

NGO Day

Technology can play a valuable role in the work of NGOs,

particularly where young people are concerned. We joined

Microsoft and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service to

organise the 9

th

NGO Day in June 2013, which examined the

use of online resources to get in touch with and serve NGO

target clients, with a focus on how to approach youth networks

with the latest technology tools. Representatives from 60 NGOs

in the social welfare section participated in the event.

Games for Change: 2

Meet-up Tea Gathering

The “Games for Change” initiative is a global movement

committed to the creation and distribution of social impact

games. In support of this worthwhile initiative, we worked with

the Hong Kong Digital Game-based Learning Association to

organise a meet-up that explored social impact games. A

highlight of the meet-up was the launch of a dedicated web

page “Games for Change — Play” consolidating 22 games

under various themes such as Civics, Culture, Education,

Environment, Health, and Poverty.

ICT and Autism Forum

The “ICT and Autism Forum” was one of the many events of the

“7

th

United Nation’s World Autism Awareness Day 2014 Greater

China Region — Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Project”.

The project promotes public awareness of autism and the

application of ICT for the training, learning and therapy of

people with autism.

Held at Cyberport, the Forum showcased ICT solutions such as

augmented reality, robots, online games and mobile apps for

industry practitioners, social welfare workers, educators and

parents.

The event was organised by Autism Hong Kong, the Hong Kong

Educational Technology Association, and the Distinctive

Learning Society, etc.

午後茶聚第二回

Games for Change

」是一項全球性的運動,致

力創作及宣揚具有社會影響力的遊戲。為了支

持這項有意義的運動,數碼港與香港數碼遊戲

為本學習協會合辦是次午後茶聚,專門發掘具

有社會影響力的遊戲。當中一大成果是推出一

個名為「

Games for Change – Play

」的網頁,共

收納了

個遊戲,課題計有公民意識、文化、

教育、環境、健康和扶貧。

「自閉症與資訊科技發展香港區論壇」是

呼籲公眾關注自閉症和認識如何在自閉症患者

的訓練、學習和治療上應用到

是次論壇於數碼港舉行,為業界人士、社工、

教育工作者和家長展出了擴增實景、機械人、

網上遊戲和移動應用程式等

是次活動由香港自閉症聯盟、香港教育科技促

進協會和香港兒童啟迪協會等機構合辦。
