Launch of the 4K Master Control Centre
The new 4K broadcasting standard, or Ultra High Definition
(UHD), is the wave of the future in broadcast technology,
delivering four times as much detail as the current 1080p HD
standard.
To promote this exciting new technology, in January 2014 we
unveiled Hong Kong’s first publicly available multi-format
supported platform for 4K video production and screening —
our new Master Control Centre (MCC). Now in operation, this
state-of-the-art facility will serve as a catalyst for the growth of
the region’s digital entertainment (DE) industry.
Equipped with a full range of satellite reception and fully
automated monitoring facilities, the MCC offers centralised
multi-channel and multi-function broadcasting capabilities. It
will serve as the hub for all incoming and outgoing signal
sources and support the development of high quality, live
digital content by overseas and Hong Kong content producers
using the Digital Cinema Exchange (DCX) platform.

現已投入運作，推動了區內數碼娛樂業的發展。
主控制室配備全方位衛星接收及全自動化監控
設備，並提供一站式多頻道及多功能廣播能
力。主控制室同時處理所有輸入及輸出訊源，
支援海外及香港的內容製作商利用數碼電影交
換平台
(DCX)
開發高質素的直播數碼節目。
