Cyberport hosts DNSSEC.Asia Summit to address system security issues |
Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is
a security measure that protects Internet users from getting infected with cache
poisoning. With Cyber threats becoming a growing concern for many small
and large businesses alike, many corporations are stepping up their network
security measures to ensure their systems are not compromised.
Cyberport has responded to this need by organizing the DNSSEC.Asia Summit 2012
with Internet Society Hong Kong, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and
Numbers (ICANN) and Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) in late August, an
un-missable opportunity for executives, managers and engineers to learn more
about how best to do this in an efficient and effective manner.
International experts including Phil Regnauld and Hervey Allen from the NSRC,
Warren Kwok from Professional Information Security Association (PISA) and
Richard Lamb at ICANN, will be speaking.
The half-day summit will comprise of a seminar that will focus on threats to the
domain name system, and identify the various attack vectors that can penetrate
an insecure DNS. It will also address the benefits of a secure DNSSEC, and its
impact on future applications, and on e-commerce and e-government.
The summit will also feature a two-day workshop focusing on technical hands-on
experience, and key management concerns. The session will address the
concerns of technical staff and engineers working for ISP/ASPs, banks, higher
education and government agencies. The workshop will use presentations and
hands-on labs to illustrate the benefits of a secure DNS, and why every business
needs to address such issues.
