Cyberport's business development schemes call for submissions |
The spirit of entrepreneurship is well and alive
in Hong Kong, according to a survey conducted by the Hong Kong Trade Development
Council and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups last year which polled Hong
Kong residents aged between 18 to 35 on their attitudes towards starting and
running their own business.
The survey also indicated that if assistance was granted to a critical 11
percent of young people, the rate of entrepreneurship could rise significantly.
Entrepreneurship programmes in Hong Kong aim to help start-ups raise seed money
and establish a sound network, two of the biggest obstacles entrepreneurs face
today.
A good example of such schemes includes the Cyberport incubation programme and
the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF). The incubation scheme supports the
development of the Hong Kong ICT industry by offering networking opportunities,
providing participating companies the access to advanced facilities and
resources, financial assistance and other funding opportunities, of up to
$530,000 over a 24 month period. Applications can be submitted from now until
October 19.
The latter scheme is a seed fund designed to encourage innovation and creativity
by sponsoring high potential creative and innovative start up projects or
business concepts in ICT related areas. Aspiring entrepreneurs will have access
to seed funding with a maximum grant of HK$100,000 to fund concept tests and
prototype development. Applications are open from now until October 31.
"The entrepreneurial spirit is of huge importance to us, and is certainly worth
promoting, particularly when it comes to contributing to Hong Kong's
longstanding ability to adapt and innovate," explained Herman Lam, Cyberport's
CEO.
Don't miss out on these remarkable opportunities to apply to our signature
programmes today. We are accepting applications now. For more information,
