Cyberport is co-organizing an exciting competition the "Asia Smartphone Apps Contest" with the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Association.  The Contest, the very first of its kind in Asia, will select outstanding smartphone apps to recognize excellent innovations and industry players' efforts in developing best-of-breed smartphone apps.  Contestants will have the chance to compete with apps from 6 participating Asian countries including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Macau, Japan and Korea.

Smartphone apps developers are encouraged to submit their apps between 15 August to 31 October, 2012. Members of the public can also nominate innovative smartphone apps from 15 August to 15 September, 2012.  All smartphone apps developed by apps developers in Asia are eligible to compete in one of three award categories namely (1) advertising and marketing, (2) games and edutainment, and (3) creative lifestyle.

Final results will be announced at an award ceremony to be held at Cyberport on 7 March, 2013.  Winners will have the opportunity to present their winning apps to industry practitioners during the experience sharing session.
