Transportation & Logistics
Smart mobility, a key pillar of the Smart City Blueprint 2.0, drives Hong Kong’s evolution through efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced transportation. This initiative enhances citizens’ quality of life, providing benefits to both individuals and businesses, and strengthening Hong Kong's competitiveness. Mobility innovation is unlocking unprecedented economic value through the creation of new markets, jobs, and business opportunities.
Intelligent transportation requires data-driven mobility solutions to meet tomorrow’s needs, and AI, Blockchain, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and IoT are uniquely positioned to deliver. AI and predictive analytics power real-time traffic management, smart routing, autonomous transport services, and predictive maintenance. Blockchain enables secure payment systems, automated transactions, and transparent logistics management. Data Science and IoT facilitate intelligent fleet management and optimise route and passenger flow, while connected vehicle technologies improve road safety, efficiency, and ESG compliance. All of these initiatives are supported by robust Cybersecurity to protect critical infrastructure and ensure data privacy.
Cyberport nurtures smart mobility start-ups through incubation support, solution matching, and industry partnerships, providing infrastructural support and funding for start-ups to pilot, test, and refine their solutions. This is essential for innovative solutions to move from concept to implementation.

Cyberport signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and established a strategic partnership with KC Smart Mobility, a subsidiary of Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited (KCBH), which is the Hong Kong's largest non-franchised public bus operator and focuses on innovative smart mobility solutions; and EHang, the world’s leading urban air mobility (UAM) technology platform company. The three parties leverage their respective resource advantages to advance the research and application of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in Hong Kong, promote emerging technologies and industries such as smart mobility and smart logistics and enforce industry safety standards. It also aims to activate the low-altitude airspace as a new economic factor, explore larger development potentials for various industries and create digital economic benefits for Hong Kong while enhancing the smart living for citizens and bringing inclusive value to the public.
According to the MoU, the three parties collaborate across multiple areas. Cyberport provides operational space for the pilotless electric vertical aircraft trial project within its campus, integrate its stakeholder resources, liaises with the government to facilitate project implementation, and provides assistance and advice in funding application. By leveraging its extensive experience in managing public transportation, KC Smart Mobility actively promotes pilotless transport projects and green transportation systems. It also manages and allocates its own funded financial resources for the project and operates the designated routes, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations. EHang focuses on the development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems and solutions, with applications covering air passenger transportation, logistics, and smart city management. It also provides sufficient technical support for the maintenance and upgrades of hardware, software, and firmware, including necessary training and resources to ensure smooth operation and system enhancements; and supply adequate data and information that comply with government safety standards, ensuring all compliance-related processes are conducted smoothly and meet regulatory requirements.
