AI Supercomputing Centre (AISC) Accelerates Development

Cyberport is expediting the establishment of the Hong Kong’s first and largest Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre (“AISC”), with its first phase operation commenced in December 2024. The AISC strengthens Hong Kong’s R&D capabilities in HealthTech, AI, data science, advanced manufacturing, and new energy technology. To support the AI ecosystem development in Hong Kong, the 2024-25 Budget announced the allocation of HK$3 billion to implement a multi-pronged three-year AI Subsidy Scheme (“AISS”). This multi-pronged initiative subsidies local institutions, R&D centres, government bureaux and departments, AI start-ups and strategic enterprises, levergaing AISC's computing power for breakthroughs in scientific research.
