Cyberport’s Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre (AISC), first of this kind currently in Hong Kong, officially commenced operations in 2024. With the AISC as its core engine, Cyberport has built a comprehensive AI ecosystem that encompasses computing power, general and professional large models, model risk assessment, industry application support, governance and ethics discussions, and more, which gathers talent and innovative resources from the Mainland China and overseas to support innovative R&D and applications spanning across the AI ecosystem chain to accelerate industry development.
Cyberport's Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre (AISC) provides 3,000 PFLOPS, supporting growing demand for high-performance computing across the technology sector and advancing long-term development of Hong Kong’s AI ecosystem.
To support the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem development in Hong Kong, the 2024-25 Budget announced the allocation of $3 billion to implement a multi-pronged three-year AI Subsidy Scheme (“AISS”), including subsidising eligible users to make the best use of the computing power by Cyberport’s Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre so that they can optimise the use of computing power of the AISC and achieve more breakthroughs in scientific research.
