Cyberport-AWS Joint Innovation Center

The Cyberport-AWS Joint Innovation Center (JIC) represents a three-year collaboration between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cyberport to accelerate Hong Kong's innovation and technology development. Through four key focus areas - startup acceleration, AI commercialization, FinTech innovation, and tech talent development - we are committed to supporting local startups and strengthening Hong Kong's position as a global innovation hub.

1. Startup Acceleration

AWS and Cyberport aim to support over 100 startups annually, further optimizing the Hong Kong startup incubation environment. AWS will provide cloud resources, technical support, and expert consultation. AWS industry experts based at Cyberport will offer on-site assistance throughout the startup lifecycle, from ideation to scaling.

2. AI Commercialization

AWS will launch various programs to support Cyberport in building a comprehensive AI environment. The goal is to jointly support local institutions, R&D centers, and startups in implementing AI and generative AI solutions. AWS will provide workshops, one-on-one expert consultations, and targeted solution recommendations to help AI-focused startups transition from development to commercial operations. AWS will also help these companies list their products on the AWS Marketplace, thereby expanding their global reach.

3. FinTech Innovation

Together with Cyberport, AWS will leverage its leading cloud technology and extensive experience serving global financial services customers to actively participate in HKSAR government and public sector FinTech initiatives. AWS will leverage its technological advantages to support the responsible development of generative AI applications in banking, assisting participating organizations in testing innovative use cases within a controlled risk framework, with a focus on enhancing risk management, anti-fraud measures, and customer experience. AWS will continue to collaborate with Cyberport to provide solutions and best practices for fintech scenarios, driving the continued development of Hong Kong's fintech sector.

4. Tech Talent Cultivation

AWS and Cyberport will collaborate to cultivate and expand Hong Kong's tech talent pool. Cyberport Academy will integrate AWS Educate resources to provide over 2,200 Cyberport companies with AWS-certified cloud training courses, catering to various skill levels. AWS will fully support the "Cyberport University Partnership Program," providing cloud computing training and internationally recognized cloud certifications to approximately 50 startup teams. Through this collaboration, AWS will continue to equip students and young entrepreneurs with the skills needed to succeed in the digital economy, laying a solid foundation for Hong Kong's continued innovation and development.
