Cyberport 5
To tie in with the “National Fourteenth Five-year Plan” that supports Hong Kong to be an international innovation and technology (I&T) hub and promote the long-term development of the local I&T sector, Cyberport is carrying out an expansion project (the Project) including the construction of a new office building (Cyberport 5) which seeks to strength the local I&T infrastructures, attract aggregation of start-ups and related enterprises with a view to reinforcing Cyberport’s diversified and vibrant I&T ecosystem, making I&T a new economic engine to drive transformation of Hong Kong’s economy and creating more diversified employment opportunities.
The Cyberport Expansion Project (the Project) commenced in the fourth quarter of 2021. After completion of the foundation works, construction of the superstructure commenced in mid-2023. The main building structure is expected to be topped out by end-2024, while the expansion works are targeted for completion by end-2025 at the earliest.
Environmental protection measures for the construction site cover a wide spectrum, including noise and air quality control, daily cleaning, mosquito control, light source control, sewage management, anti-flooding measures and tree conservation. During the construction period, we strive to implement sustainable development, minimise the environmental impact caused by the project and more generally, safeguard the quality of life of nearby residents.
